Why Volunteer?

Volunteering for Bradbury Fields is a rewarding experience, building skills, confidence and a support network. We at Bradbury Fields believe that everyone has something to offer, and if you want to help your local community there is no better way than by volunteering.

Our volunteers are at the core of everything we do. Without them we couldn’t provide our vital services for blind and partially sighted people. With the help of our volunteers, the world is a more welcoming and supportive place.

Many of our volunteers are themselves blind or partially sighted. We find this not only builds the volunteers’ confidence and independence, but also provides an understanding support network for our service users.

Volunteering for Bradbury Fields offers an opportunity for you to make a huge difference to someone’s life in your local community.

Have you got a few hours to spare?

If so, we’d love to hear from you! We need volunteers to help blind and partially sighted people to enjoy a variety of leisurely activities such as:

  • Visiting places of interest such as football matches, theatre, concerts, etc.
  • Visiting the gym or swimming baths
  • Going for leisurely walks
  • Drivers (minibus & own vehicals)
  • Various group activities
  • Support community events
  • Support our online presence
  • Fundraising Support

And much more!

Training and support

Training and support will be provided to all of our volunteers.  We welcome volunteers of all levels of ability and we will make adjustments to put your skills to best use.
