Friends of Bradbury Fields

Join the Friends of Bradbury Fields

And support local blind and partially sighted people – Only £25 a year.

Established in 1857 Bradbury Fields has had several names and many  homes, however, the one remaining consistent is, we strive to improve the quality of life for those living with sight loss across Merseyside.

Testimonial

“I have found Bradbury Fields an organisation who will go out of their way to help you.  If they can’t help they would certainly find someone who could. I have to, in particular, praise my Rehab Officer.  Her expertise, experience, knowledge, understanding and friendly nature, makes my life as a DeafBlind person that little bit easier. I have known her for many years and if it wasn’t for her, I think I would feel alone with my disabilities as there appears to be no one around that understands dual sensory impairment of any kind. Thank you and I hope to benefit from your wealth of experience and knowledge for many years to come.”  Service User.

Only 60% of our funds come from the government, the rest is from people like you giving donations and gifts in Wills.  Without these, two thirds of our services would not exist, meaning hundreds of visually impaired people would be left feeling isolated and lonely.

What a difference you could make!

Here are just a few examples of how your Friends of Bradbury Fields £25 yearly donation can be spent:

  • £25 would enable 24 visually impaired people to take part in a fully accessible arts and crafts or cookery sessions.
  • £50 would enable 20 visually impaired people to access fully accessible swimming sessions for up to 10 weeks.
  • £1000 would enable us to develop and deliver Health & Wellness projects.
  • £10,000 would enable us to develop and deliver fully accessible high tech projects.
  • £30,000 would enable us to purchase an accessible vehicle to help transport visually impaired people.
  • £55,000 would enable us to purchase and fully adapt a 17-seater minibus to transport visually impaired people.

Here is what our service users say:

“Stepping into Bradbury is like stepping into another family”.

“Since I joined Bradbury I do lots of activities, swimming, zumba, even nights out! I have gained a lot of confidence”.

“The support from everyone at Bradbury Fields has been incredible and for that I am eternally grateful”. Service user.
