Established in 1857, Bradbury Fields has a long and rich history of supporting people living with sight loss across Merseyside. While our name and locations may have changed over the years, our unwavering commitment remains the same — to enhance the quality of life for visually impaired individuals through a wide range of essential services.
From mobility and orientation training that fosters independence, to communication support that helps individuals stay connected with the world around them, we are dedicated to empowering those with sight loss. Our daily living skills programs ensure that people can carry out everyday tasks with confidence, while our health and well-being sessions promote both physical and emotional resilience.
At Bradbury Fields, we understand that sight loss impacts every aspect of life, and that’s why we offer tailored support to meet the diverse needs of our community. Whether it’s guiding someone through the transition of sight loss, providing social opportunities to reduce isolation, or advocating for accessibility and inclusion, we are here to make a difference.
For over 160 years, we have been a pillar of support, ensuring that those living with visual impairment can lead fulfilling, independent, and enriched lives.
Only 60% of our funds come from the government, the rest is from people like you giving donations and gifts in Wills. Without these, two thirds of our services would not exist, meaning hundreds of visually impaired people would be left feeling isolated and lonely.
Friends of Bradbury Fields is an annual subscription program that allows supporters to make a meaningful difference in the lives of visually impaired people across Merseyside. For just £25 per year, members contribute directly to the essential services that help individuals with sight loss maintain their independence and well-being.
Here are just a few examples of how your Friends of Bradbury Fields £25 yearly donation can be spent:
“I have found Bradbury Fields an organisation who will go out of their way to help you. If they can’t help they would certainly find someone who could. I have to, in particular, praise my Rehab Officer. Her expertise, experience, knowledge, understanding and friendly nature, makes my life as a DeafBlind person that little bit easier. I have known her for many years and if it wasn’t for her, I think I would feel alone with my disabilities as there appears to be no one around that understands dual sensory impairment of any kind. Thank you and I hope to benefit from your wealth of experience and knowledge for many years to come.”
“Stepping into Bradbury is like stepping into another family.”
“Since I joined Bradbury I do lots of activities, swimming, zumba, even nights out! I have gained a lot of confidence.”
“The support from everyone at Bradbury Fields has been incredible and for that I am eternally grateful.”
