Wills and Legacies

Making a Will

We all know that you can’t take it with you when you’re gone but you can decide just who gets your money when you die. Making a Will ensures that your last wishes are considered and that the ‘Tax-man’ doesn’t get any more than he needs to. Our voluntary and social activities are only possible because of the generosity of our supporters and significantly through the support they give in the form of a Will after their death. A legacy left to Bradbury Fields would be a lasting memorial to your kindness and would mean that we are able to continue to help and improve the lives of blind and partially sighted people for many years to come. If you decide to leave a gift to Bradbury Fields after you die, please let us know so that we can thank you on behalf of the people who will benefit from your generosity.

Should I seek professional help when writing my will?

We would always recommend that anyone who wishes to make a will should seek professional help. It needn’t be as expensive as you think and you can then rest assured that your wishes will be honoured.

Can I write my own will?

Yes, you can write your own will. However we would certainly recommend that legal advice be sought, especially if you have dependant children or you are considering leaving a gift to charity. If you write your own will, what may sound okay to you may mean something quite different in law.

What about leaving a gift to my favourite charity through my will?

After making sure that any loved ones are cared for in your will it is often satisfying to know that a lasting legacy in memory of your generosity will be used to improve the lives of others. Any gift toBradbury Fields would be free of inheritance tax and therefore 100% of your gift would be received by the charity.

Legacies and Bradbury Fields

Legacies left by our supporters are vital to the future growth of Bradbury Fields. The income they provide to the charity ensures that we can plan for the future with hope and peace of mind. The security that legacies provide means that our voluntary and social activities can prosper and help build a brighter future for blind and partially sighted people.

PLEASE, IF POSSIBLE, REMEMBER BRADBURY FIELDS IN YOUR WILL!
